Everything about life can be summed up into this one statement. “The connection between all life is relatable to what runs one’s life.” Most times, money has always been the driving force in America and it is the leading frontrunner in limiting peoples Dreams. Think about the ultimate goal in your life; as an American, as a Parent, just as a person. At some point in your life, that goal involved getting an education first. We all can relate; you want an education, for you, for your kids,  for your grandkids. But it’s not until you step foot on a College Campus, do you feel the heaviness that accompanies reaching this point in your life. At this point in your life, you are faced with one main question. How are you going to pay for it all? Money, at this point now dictates your life, and your future goals. At the very moment I was faced with that question, I didn’t take it as a hinderance; instead, I took it as motivation that money will not stop my main goal. Getting an Education was my goal and still is the number one relatable goal in life.

Education is thee Brand at One Broke - our motto is simple, honest, ambitious and bold. It invokes the memory of our common struggle of overcoming the academic year; the academic journey. Together we’ve all dealt with Student Loans, paying for College, or dealing with College debt. If you have never dealt with this type of debt, then please share our Brand with someone you know who has. Trust me they’ll love it – we have all colors and sizes. This experience, that we’ve shared, has allowed me to realize how I would overcome my own journey through Academia.

One Broke College Student was created in the heart of UIC’s campus. Our driving force has always been to be a relatable Brand amongst the Academic environment; simple. I wanted my Brand to not only represent me, the original One Broke College Student, but also to represent the common struggle, and that honesty. I wanted my Brand to represent entrepreneurship amongst students, and that ambition. I wanted my Brand to represent turning heads because wearing One Broke makes a statement, bold.
